Out West for a break…

Our long weekend break out west deserves a much better blog post than the one I am about to create, but time is pressing, and I have another large post to prepare, so this will really be a photo-montage of sorts.

We had a few days staying at the excellent Delphi Adventure Centre, which should have been our home base for the Gaelforce West event, but that fell foul of Covid, so we made other plans.

But we kept our booking, and had a fantastic time. To paraphrase the great Christy Moore, we ‘climbed a mountain, jumped in a lake…’

Well, we accidentally climbed Diamond Hill, near Letterfrack, but more deliberately had a few sea swims at Silver Strand and Glassilaun, and enjoyed great food and hospitality at Delphi.

And possibly the best seafood chowder ever at Derrylahan Bistro in Louisburgh. That’s quite a claim, but I stand over it!

And we even met a whippet, as you do.
