Forgive me father for I have sinned. It’s been several weeks since my last post. In fairness, I have been laying low, recuperating from the trials and tribulations of Hardman. The knee is acting up. I tried a run the Saturday after the race (a week later), and it was painful after less than a kilometre and I had to pull up and walk.
I have been out with Mark a couple of times, but the last time, I went on the bike. As I joked to Mark, we can pretend I am the coach. Every time we pass a few joggers, I shout out “Come on Mark, that was a four minute mile… we need to pull our socks up…”
Anyway, the knee feels better now, and I have a plan to hit the gym for some core work and targeted exercises for IT band injuries. Once I have a few weeks of that under my belt, I will tentatively ease myself back into light running again. I miss it.
In the meantime, here is a race report from the guy who placed third in the event. For no particular reason other than interesting coincidence, we shared the same swim time.

Pretending to be coach sounds fun!
Hope you are back to running soon though.
