The following is more of a photo essay than a blog post. Work continues, as does the gym, and I managed a paltry 5k at the weekend. My brother was over for a visit so there were, em, distractions, and of course, there was some rugby to be watched. But overall, it’s very much ‘as you were’.
The weather has been rather mixed. Storm Babet and other fronts have swept across the country, bringing much rain and some flooding in parts. This morning was perhaps our first real misty morning. Despite that, Autumn has arrived, not as a ‘season of mists and mellow fruitfulness’, but rather a season of rotting crops in fields as flood waters subside to leave behind sodden and unworkable soil.

The cat in the gallery above is Shem, our daughter’s moggy. She’s quite small but fearless, and has possibly used up eight of her lives already when she ran into Bonnie as a kitten. The others are a mix of stuff from our Lane or the nearby park.
Best of luck to anyone running the Dublin City Marathon next Sunday. I hope to pop in and have a look.

Love that first picture of the tree!!

Me, too. Love other pics, too (the human-canine dreamland pic hits all the right notes), but that chestnut …
