A drought of sorts…

Our lane a few weeks ago, when I was heading to bed at midnight, and spotted these rare noctilucent clouds…

The weather has been good of late. Unseasonably hot for these parts. Of course, we marvel at our 32° in Galway while Portugal gets baked with 45° so it’s all relative, I guess. Essentially, there has been no running of late, nor any gym work. Exercise is taken at work, running up and down stairs and hoofing heavy equipment in and out of vans and trucks. It doesn’t count, nor am I pretending it does. Nor do the impromptu dips in the lake.

The other occupation which is gobbling up the time is the shed and garden. The shed is largely finished, structurally, anyway. Now comes the finickity part where I try and put in workbenches and shelving and kit it all out with tools. This is going to take some time. The garden is also in a shambles as a result of neglect (partly due to all the focus on the shed, and the fact that most of our small garden was a building site and/or storage yard for months). It’s finally coming to an end, thankfully.

And so, congrats to Vince, who blogs here. He had a significant birthday and celebrated in as much style as his Achilles would let him, completing a fabulous 50k race.

Hopefully running will recommence once the hard work has finished outside. And now for quite a number of photos…

Had to stop on my way to deliver a ride-on mower to a customer when I spotted this view

There are always things to marvel at, even when at work in a concrete yard!

The Golden Hour always offers some eye-catching sights in the woods by the lake
I call this one ‘Trunkated’…
These Wild Arum toxic berries will turn bright red shortly.

My brother Rob popped over from Italy for a few days, so I made sure we had a skip ready to fill; a visit to the Lep was in order as payment!

Poor Odi was attacked by another dog when we were out for a walk. Many stitches were required, plus buckets of TLC and treats. He’s on the mend…

Above: a smörgåsbord of oddities. The black and white one was another shot taken while at work, entitled ‘Attempted Murder in Celbridge…’
