I envy him not, but it’s already a great achievement. Of course, here at Unironedman, we have more modest ambitions. One that is out of reach for financial reasons is the Challenge Galway Iron Man event. The early bird offer was 355 Euro. That will have gone up again, now that the date has passed. Ho hum. That’s a lot of cash, though I’ve no doubt it would be a well-organised event. And I guess that’s the going rate. But it’s more eye-watering than a downhill spin on your bike at 50kmh when you forgot your sunglasses…
